Discussion, presentation and strategies
PCLC’s Spring 2010 Apartment Market Symposium was another tremendous success with almost 100 apartment owners and investors in attendance. Thank you to all who attended.
Nobody left disappointed. The March 17th event was held at the San Leandro Marina Inn and it included a panel discussion moderated by Link Corkery, owner/broker of PCLC, plus a special presentation by Homy Sikaroudi, Ph.D., PE, on soft-story apartment buildings and strategies for retrofitting them.
In between, Link Corkery presented over $34 million in PCLC apartment listings, including apartments in Hayward, San Leandro, Castro Valley, Oakland and Fairfield.
Apartment rental and sales market panel
The powerhouse apartment panel was carefully assembled by Link Corkery and his team for maximum hands-on experience in the rental and sale market:
- Jerald Udinsky, Ph.D. economist with The Udinsky Group and owner of over 300 apartments
- Brian Rein, Chief Operating Officer for JCM Partners, LLC, and manager for over 5,000 units in Northern California
- Dan Lieberman, CEO of Horizon Property Group and former president of the California Apartment Association
- Bill Rosetti, the largest apartment owner/operator in Oakland
Jerald Udinsky, Brian Rein, Dan Lieberman and Bill Rosetti
The panel discussed the current rental market and apartment sale market with personal experiences and predictions and left the audience spellbound. It was a unique experience and those who attended were treated to many diverse viewpoints about our apartment market. Three of the four panelists went to both MIT and UC Berkeley. All were of the opinion that apartment owners need to get involved with the decisions made on the city, county and state levels affecting owners.
